Fellow citizens, few progressives have been more critical of Obama and the Democratic Party than I.

 

From the restoration of our civil liberties, to the travesty they proclaimed Health Care Reform, to continued preemptive war without end, to the award of trillions of dollars to billionaires instead of their victims the people, thus far the Democrats have failed, dismally.

 

But the time is soon coming when we must make a choice. Not a choice about those who have succeeded, but a choice about those who may still realistically do so.

 

And as saddened as I am by the Democratic Parties betrayal of their core values and those who elected them with such great fervor and zeal, there is no doubt that they also remain our great nations only hope.

 

For the Democrats still comprise the last small organized and electable bastion of progressives and humanitarians within our forsaken land, while the Republican Party, without doubt, is comprised only of a new dispassionate evil.

 

So despite our anger, despite our disappointment, and despite an unfulfilled promise of justice, we must reelect the Democrats in November. There is simply no other choice. A choice mandated by simple reality, and what is clearly a lessor evil than the horror the Republicans would gleefully unleash upon us.

 

And then we must continue to demand, voraciously and without pause, the Democrats unfulfilled promise of change, and hope.
